Elizabeth "Ms.
Busy" Thomas Jackson
May 2, 1943 – December 5, 2024
On May 2, 1943, Elizabeth Thomas Jackson, affectionately known as "Busy" was the second born of seven daughters to the union of the late Isaiah and Ida Mae Thomas, Birmingham, Alabama. She proceeded in death by her husband, David Lee Jackson, Jr, two daughters, Mable Jackson, and LaKeisha Jackson Spencer.
Elizabeth confessed Christ at an early age and united with Saint James Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorage of Rev. M. Thorton. She was very faithful and active in the church under the guidance of Rev. C.W. Sewell and the current Rev. Gerald F. Jones. She was a Deaconess and a humanitarian, always willing to help others.
Elizabeth graduated from A. H. Parker High School. She was blessed with a courtship to the late David Lee Jackson, Jr. David and Elizabeth married and to their union were born four beautiful and loving daughters, Brenda, Felecia, Mable, and LaKeisha.
A devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend as well as an amazing cook. She shared her culinary skills with Birmingham City Schools as a Cafeteria Worker and then as Cafeteria Manager.
God saw His angel, looked at her that day, and softly whispered, "Come with Me this way." God loved her incredible spirit and the love she shared with everyone. He surrounded her with everlasting grace and said, "A Job well Done." In that peaceful moment, she found eternal rest and happiness in heaven. Her legacy of kindness and compassion will always inspire us.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Brenda Horton (Terry) and Felecia Hurst (Wayne); four sisters, Willa Dean Wright, Jeraldine Teague, Beverly Thomas, and Ivy Jo Smith; seven grandchildren, Donald Prabatah, Chivar Jackson, Chivonne Capps, LaShanti Wilson, Chalece Dudley, Andre Jackson, and Dominique Jackson, a host of great-grandchildren children, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
