Mother was born on August 19th, 1945, to the late Eddie Robertson and Mattie L. Harris. Mother Edwina attended Birmingham Public Schools. She confessed Christ at an early age. During her teenage years she helped her mother take care of the home with cooking and cleaning, especially being the eldest daughter. She was an honest humble servant and a soldier for the Lord. She met who would later be her husband, Prince George Washington, Jr. They were married for 50 years. She loved to cook and feed people. She loved children and was a mother to many. Crocheting and knitting just came naturally to her. She never spoke an ill word about anyone or to anyone. She wouldn’t let anyone bring anything to her about anyone, a true wife and woman of God, helped to bring many to Christ. Mother was preceded in death by her husband, Prince George Washington; four brothers; two sisters; and one nephew. She leaves to cherish her memories: a beloved daughter, Carol Washington; two nieces; two nephews; sisters-in-love, Geraldine Coleman, Carol Wren, Carol Bates, and Elna Reynolds; brother-inlove, Mr. Jimmie Coleman, Mr. Bates; special cousin, Mrs. Earline May Greene; best friend and classmate, Mrs. Shirley Witherspoon; long-time family, Apostle Emmanuel Smith; daughters-in-love, Catrice Fluker, Sheila Vaughner Gomez, Olentha Steve, and Jacqueline Vaughner; sons-in-love, K.D.Adams and Musa Muhammad, LaGarious Milton, and Tony Abbruzzo; grandson, Douglas Burroughs; and a host of friends, cousins, relatives, and loved ones.
