Eddie Jane
Mobley
May 30, 1942 – March 28, 2024
Eddie Jane Mobley was born to the late Ed Jones and Victoria Brown on May 30, 1942 in Jackson Mississippi. She departed this life at the
age of 81 on March 28th, 2024 at University Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.
Eddie Jane, affectionately known as "Doll", loved children. In her younger years, she would often be found taking care of a house full of
children, her own and others. As the years went by, she was still a beacon for the children and adults in the Hooper City neighborhood.
She was loved by many who came in contact with her for her ability to express her opinion, openly and honestly. Her favorite expression
was, "If you can't be good, then be bad." She will be missed by many.
Eddie Jane was preceded in death by: her husband, Sam Mobley, Sr.; son, Tommy Lee Brown; one sister, Lillie Mae Evans and two brothers,
Ellis Jones Jr. and William Jones.
She leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Joseph (Adena) Brown of Birmingham, Alabama and Sam (Jocelyn) Mobley, Jr. of Alabaster, Alabama; six grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
