Deaconess Carolyn
Davis
August 1, 1955 – May 5, 2025
Carolyn Keith Davis was born on August 1, 1955, in Birmingham, Alabama, to the late Hattie Page and Louis R. Keith. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Charles McClellan, Louis Keith, and Amelia Smoot.
Carolyn accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Jackson Street Baptist Church. She later joined the Sixth Avenue Baptist Church, where she would meet and eventually marry Larry Davis. During her time at Sixth Avenue, she was active in many organizations, including The Deaconess Ministry, The Kindness Ministry, Circle Number 5, Children's Church, Marital Enrichment, as well as several Bible Study groups. Carolyn was kind, faithful, and generous with her time and resources.
She graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1973 and from Southern Business College in 1974. She later attended Miles College, where she earned her bachelor's degree in business administration. During her time at Miles, Carolyn was very studious but loved spending quality time with friends and family, especially during homecoming.
Upon graduation, Carolyn began an illustrious career with the Social Security Administration as a regional security analyst, a profession that would span over 40 years. She was very passionate about her field of work and was admired for her dedication and professionalism,
from which she happily retired in January of 2025.
Carolyn's memory will forever be cherished by her husband, Larry J. Davis; daughter, Daisha Grice (Juya); sisters, Doris Manning, Juanita Daniels, Diane Parker (Gus), and Mildred Craig; brothers, Michael Keith and Algia McClellan; and a host of other family and friends.
