Dawnshire Latisha Woods-Miller was born on April 17, 1974, in Birmingham,
Alabama, to Robert and Mary Woods, who loved her dearly. She was the third child…too many
who were lost. At the age of six she joined with her parents Free Will Church of God In Christ, and she was a
member there until she gained her wings.
Dawnshire attended Birmingham City Schools and went on to attend college. As a young child,
Tisha never played much, but she enjoyed life. We always taught her to never let her illness overcome
her and to live life, and that is what she did.
It was during her high school days when she realized she and Al liked each other, even though they
had grown up together in church. During their prom season, they both realized that they were
inseparable. On June 28, 1997, they exchanged wedding vows, and they lived together until she
gained her wings on April 24, 2018, at 5:56 a.m.
Tisha's legacy lives on in the hearts of her family. She was preceded in death by her father Robert.
She leaves to cherish her memories: a loving husband of 20 years, Al Miller; mother, Mary Woods;
two sisters, April and Naytheisha; grandmother, Luanna Peoples; three special brothers, Stan,
Shedrick Whitehead, and James Kendrick; special sisters, Genita Matthews and Janet Kendrick;
two special aunts, Ruby Jordan and Barbara Whitehead; two nephews, Malachi and Manesseh;
special uncle, Lewis Moore; special father- and mother-in-law, Wallace and Elodia Miller; brotherin-law,
Tim Miller; and a host of relatives and friends.
