Obituary

David Anthony Blutcher was born on October 27,1957, in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Lonzie and Elizabeth Blutcher. He was the 3rd born of 5 siblings: Annie Crews, Lonzie Blutcher Jr., Lillian Leonard, and Sandra Blutcher.

A product of the Birmingham City School District, he attended Hill, Wilkerson, and Lincoln Elementary Schools (Participating in the Enrichment program at the latter). He graduated from A. H. Parker High School in 1976. Subsequently, David attended the University of Kansas, graduating in 1982 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. He went on to attend the University of Kansas Law School, earning a Juris Doctorate in 1987.

Upon graduating Law School and successfully passing his Bar Exam, David moved to Chicago and accepted his first position as an Attorney at Vaughn & Associates. He later started his own practice: The Law Offices of David A. Blutcher. In 1998, David experienced a life-altering illness which forced him to close his law practice. Through perseverance and determination, David established Towb Development: a Real Estate
and Entertainment Promotion company. Also, he continued to provide legal counsel and consultation. Oftentimes, David offered his services on a Pro-Bono basis.

David's first marriage to Carmena Starks resulted in the blessing of his firstborn son, Cecil Anthony Starks-Blutcher. He then went on to meet Lisa Pitts in 1993 and they fell deeply in love. Lisa was the proud mother to daughter, Lauren Nicole Bolden, from a previous marriage. Together, they created a beautiful blended family with both of their children when they married in 1995. They went on to birth a daughter, Briana Christine
Blutcher and son, David Micah Blutcher.

Faith Journey
David was baptized at an early age at First Baptist Church Montevallo Park. As an adult, he re-dedicated his life to Christ, at the Apostolic Church of God in Chicago, Illinois, under the leadership of Bishop Arthur M. Brazier. David led his family to join Victory Apostolic Church in Chicago Heights, Illinois. At Victory Apostolic, David hit his 'Spiritual Stride' under the leadership of Pastor Andrew D. Singleton Jr. and watched his family
flourish in Christ. All of his children were baptized at Victory and everyone in the family was active in the ministry. David was a member of the Deacon Board, served on the Men's Ministry and Finance Committee, and offered his coaching skills in the Sports Ministry. David demonstrated compassion, love, and kindness throughout his life. He ministered to others through his gentle, humble and giving spirit.

Athletic Prowess
Anyone who met David prior to the mid 80's, more than likely knew him for his outstanding athletic achievements. Growing up in the historic 'East Thomas' neighborhood of Birmingham, Alabama, his athletic exploits were nothing short of legendary. David started running track during his formative years at Lincoln Elementary School and continued at Parker High School. It was well known by those in the community that, in a footrace, you couldn't touch him with a ten-foot pole. He represented Birmingham in the US Youth Games multiple times: Competing in Detroit,
Boston, Houston and New York City. David was an All-Star in the Youth Baseball League, playing Shortstop and Pitcher. He was also an East Thomas Punt Pass and Kick Champion. Listed below is an abbreviated list of his staggering accomplishments and accolades:

He decided to attend the University of Kansas with the intention to play football and run track, but later decided to opt out of football. Arriving in the fall of 1976, as a freshman, he scored in every meet. David also ran with the 1977 National Championship team, winning the Indoor Mile Relay. He was the 1977 National Runner Up on the 4x100m outdoor relay team.
