Darryl was born on October 1, 1963, in Birmingham, Alabama. At an early age he
accepted Christ and attended Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.

He was educated in the Birmingham City School System and graduated from West End
High School in 1981, where he was a dedicated member of The West End High School
Marching Band under the direction of Mr. Ronald Bell. He continued his education at
Tuskegee University, graduating in May 1985 with a degree in veterinary medicine.

Darryl was known for his love of music, the marching band, animals, and helping others.
He loved gardening and quickly became known as the neighborhood gardener. Darryl
never met a stranger. He believed it was his duty to help anyone in need.

Darryl leaves to cherish his memory: his parents, Charles and Andrea Colston; siblings,
Charles Jr. (Deborah) Colston, Anita (Terence) Smith, Pamela Lewis, and Kassander
Robinson; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
