Darrin Leon Coleman was born October 31, 1980 to Cynthia Godwin Coleman and Joe Coleman, Jr., in Birmingham, Alabama. He was later raised by his mother, Cynthia Godwin Miller and his loving and devoted stepfather, Eugene Miller. He departed this life at 44 years old on Sunday, December 22, 2024.

Darrin is the father of one daughter, Zayanna Maria Coleman of Birmingham, Alabama. Darrin is the younger of three children including Eveta and Joe all of Birmingham, Alabama. He was the loving stepfather of Zateria Hyman of Birmingham, Alabama.

He gave his life to Christ at an early age. He worked at Kamtek as a forklift driver for eleven years. Where his absence will not go unnoticed.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his parents, Cynthia Godwin Miller and Eugene Miller; daughter, Zayanna Marie Coleman; two siblings, Evetta Coleman and Joe Coleman, III (LeKecia); one niece, Ja'nia Coleman; two nephews, Brandon Coleman and Landon Coleman; uncles, Theotis Godwin, Sr. (Carolyn)., Anthony Coleman (Thalia), Jerry Coleman(Robbie), all of Birmingham, Alabama, and Charles Coleman, of Boston, MA; aunts, Carlotta Godwin, LeAnna Godwin, Vickie Godwin, Sandra Godwin, Linda Coleman, all of Birmingham, AL., and Barbara Coleman of Ohio; best friend, Michelle Daniels; and a host of cousins, family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Coleman, Jr.; grandparents, Eddie and Dortha Godwin, Sr.,  Joe and Mildred Coleman, Sr.; six uncles, Eddie Godwin, Jr., Wayne Godwin, Fitzgerald Godwin, Sr., Asa Godwin, Lee Coleman, and Nathaniel Coleman.
