The Legacy of D' Andrei

On September 16, 1992, D'Andrei Stepfon Freeman, affectionately known as "Dee" or "Drei," was born to Henry Edward Freeman II and Nicole Michelle Washington.

D'Andrei was introduced to Christianity at an early age and was baptized at Faith Chapel in Birmingham, AL.

D'Andrei was early educated in the private school systems, attending Cornerstone Schools of Alabama. He continued his education attending and graduating Clay/Chalkville High School. D'Andrei later attended Jefferson State Community College to pursue a degree in Physical Therapy.

He was employed by Walmart in Trussville, for three and a half years. He later embarked on a new career path with the United States Postal Service as a Mail Handler, where he worked until his earthly departure.

Meek and mild and a man of very few words, he was known for his calm and loving spirit. He was not a complex person at all. He was a quiet person who, in his words, "was always paying attention, but minding my own business."

Known for his love of music, you would always catch him with a hat or hoodie and his headphones. Everyone that knew Dee, knew he had a passion for video games, and it was well known as he would spend hours on hours listening to music, eating, and playing his games. Dee was also a hard worker and had good work ethic. He didn't talk a lot, but he liked his work family.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Mr. Henry Freeman, Sr., and Mr. Asa Godwin.

To remember his legacy, D'Andrei leaves to cherish: his mother, Nicole Washington, father, Henry Freeman, grandmothers, Ms. Martha Autrey and Ms. LeeAnna Godwin, grandfather, Hudson Washington, Jr., and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and work family.
