Obituary

Mrs. Cynthia Kelly Bonner was born on June 17, 1957, to the late Mr. Arthur and Mrs. Jo Ann Kelly in Birmingham, Alabama.  Cynthia left her earthly home to be welcomed to her heavenly home on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, AL.

She confessed her love for Christ at an early age.  She was a faithful and devoted member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Birmingham.

Cynthia graduated from Leeds High School in 1975.  She furthered her education at Alabama State University, where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education.  She taught in the Jefferson County School System for 30 years until her retirement.  She loved spending time with her family, friends and her beloved Alabama State University Family.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband of 44 years, Ralph G. Bonner; mother in-law, Mrs. Eulalia Bonner; brother, Lee (Michelle) Kelly; two nephews, Cortney and Randell (Alexsis) Kelly; 4 great nephews; two unbiological sisters, Sandra (Del) Cook and Sheila Jones; godchildren, Amber Mahand and Kerrigan (Jeremy Wiley); god sisters, Katrina (Ray) Middlebrook, Stephanie (Rodney) Walker and Pamela (Billy) Porter.  One uncle, Charles (Brenda) Kelley.  A host of aunts, cousins and friends. Cynthia's love and kindness were a blessing to all who knew her.  She is now at peace, but her spirit will live on in our hearts.
