Ms. Cloytee Thigpen Morgan was born on
December 12, 1931, to the late Edna Dukes and the late
Willie Thigpen in Pachuta, Mississippi. Cloytee was raised
by her grandparents, John and Eliza Dukes, and aunt, Hester
Perryman, after the passing of her mother. Cloytee joined
Mt. Jordan United Methodist Church at a young age. She
was educated at Friendship Elementary School and Tioch
Agricultural High School. As an adult, Cloytee moved to
Birmingham, Alabama, where she worked at a local hair salon
and joined Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church. She later joined First
Baptist Church, Mountain Park, where she was a member for
over fifty years, and she became a member of the Christian
Union Society until the Lord called her home.

Cloytee leaves behind to cherish her memory: cousins, Mrs.
Mattie Dukes Martin and family, of Rose Hill, Mississippi;
Mrs. Lois Jordan and family, of Birmingham, Alabama; and
a host of friends to cherish her memories.
