Obituary

Christopher Marcellus Huston was born January 8th, 1970,  in Birmingham, AL to the proud parents, Shelby Huston Jr. and Dorothy Huston (Pates). He was the second-born of four siblings, Shelby "Bunny", Michael, and Bridget. He accepted Christ at a young age and became a member of New Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Tommy Chappell. Chris was educated in the Birmingham City school system. He attended Riggins Elementary K-8 and then went on to graduate from Woodlawn Magnet High School with the class of 1988.

Christopher made the decision to serve his country by enlisting into the United States Navy. He was a decorated honorable veteran and he received a Naval Achievement Award for his outstanding work while serving in the Philippines. After his time in the navy, Chris managed several restaurants which included Krystal's, Wendy's, and he served as Princeton Baptist Medical Hospital's food service manager.

A few of Chris' hobbies were cooking, which he was great at by the way, listening to music, singing, and studying his Bible. Chris loved his family, family gatherings, and he loved his mother even more. He later on became a member of First Baptist Church of Woodlawn where he enjoyed helping and serving wherever he was needed and he loved being a part of the Mass Choir and Male Chorus. He looked forward to assisting in the Church's food and clothing drive every year.
