Charlie Maude Mitchell-Bonner was born March 14, 1941, to the late Frank Mitchell and Mrs. Emma Lee Mitchell. Charlie gave her life to Christ at an early age. She joined Pleasant View Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorage of the late Reverend W. B. Bradley. Charlie graduated from Western Olin High School (Birmingham City School).

Charlie pursued a career as an LPN in 1975 and later obtained an RN degree from Samford University in 1979. She was employed with the University of Alabama where she served 20 years as a dedicated Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Nurse. Afterwards, she became employed at Brookwood Medical Center. There she served as a Psychiatrist Nurse and later retired in 2010.

Charlie departed this earthly life on Thursday, December 29, 2022. She was preceded in death by her late husband, William Bonner, Jr., parents, and one sister, Emma Jean Mitchell.

Charlie leaves to cherish her memories: her two loving devoted daughters, Courtenay (Jonathan) Bonner-Nalls and Cheryl D. Bonner; brother, Johnny Mitchell; five grandchildren, Brandon Bonner, Portia (John) Garrett, Jonnay Nalls, Jayland Bonner, and Brijon Nalls; five great- grands, Willie Jenkins, Aniya Jenkins, Jada Garrett, Jordyn Garrett, and Joi Garrett; two nieces, Latricia Paige and Sabrina (Eric) Howard; two great nephews, Orlando Stringer and Prince J. Mosley; and a host of other loving relatives, friends, and extended family members.
