Cedric Evans, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, transitioned on May 21, 2024, at the age of 56. He was born on July 29, 1967, in Birmingham, Alabama, to the late Franklin James Evans Sr. and Shirley Carol Love Evans.
Cedric graduated from A.H. Parker High School as part of the Class of '85 in Birmingham, Alabama, where he laid the foundation for a life of service and commitment. After graduating, he attended Alabama A&M University, where embarked on a remarkable career in the United States Navy, dedicating himself to his country with honor and pride.
Cedric was a devoted Father, and his legacy lives on through his loving family. He is survived by his loving children Marcus & Rashard Evans, Bianca Flores (Antonio) and Bria Anderson (Tim). Cedric was a cherished grandfather to Zyiere, Aaliyah, Joel, Bill, Cedric, Rick, Pete, Peyton, Paxton, and Trey. He was a dedicated brother to Frank Evans, Jr. (Andrea), Torrance Evans (Shirley), and Dedric Evans (Felicia), and his memory will also live on through his numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Cedric will be remembered for his kind heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering dedication to his family, country, and community. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and integrity that will continue to inspire all who knew him. Additionally, his passion for cooking and indulging in BBQ contests, along with his service to the community at St. John AME and within the Navy, added vibrant dimensions to his life story, further enriching the memories of those he touched. Cedric's storytelling sessions with his grandchildren were cherished moments, where he shared wisdom, humor, and the richness of his life experiences, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of the younger generation.
Special thanks are extended to his Aunt Constance Edwards for her dedicated service to Cedric during his time in Chicago.
Cedric's memory will forever remain in our hearts, and his spirit will continue to guide us through life's journey. May he rest in peace, knowing that he was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
