Bertha Mae Lee was born in Bullock County, Alabama on November 27, 1931, to the late Mr. Lamar Kindred, Sr., and Mrs. Della Mae McMillian Kindred. To their union six children were born, the family later moved to Birmingham, Alabama and joined St. John AME Church Downtown Birmingham.

Bertha was a graduate of Edgewater Park High School.

Bertha later married the love of her life Rev. Percy Lee, Sr.

She worked 35 years in kindergarten, she later joined St. Paul AME Church, Smithfield. She was a faithful worker, bible schoolteacher, and much more.

On March 22, 2024, Bertha answered the Master's Call. She is preceded in death by parents, her husband, her siblings, Lamar Kindred, Jr., Moses Kindred, Sr., Aaron Kindred, Sr., and Leona Sams.

She leaves to cherish her memories: sister, Sarah Jane Belle (James); a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
