Bernadine Ann Bozonier Lewis was born December 28, 1928 and passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, George A. Bozonier and Inez Camille Bozonier in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was a resident of New Orleans until the wrath of Hurricane Katrina when she and her family relocated to Birmingham, Alabama. She was a graduate of McDonogh #35 Senior High School. She was employed at Haspel's Manufacturing Company and formerly the food service manager at St. David's Catholic School. Bernadine was engaged in life to the fullest. She leaves with us great memories, her husband of sixty-six years, Livingstone "Rudy" Lewis, Sr.; three children, Livingstone "Rudy" Lewis, Jr., Stephanie Lewis of Birmingham, Alabama and Merrill Lewis Jiles of Dallas, Texas; daughter-in-law, Margaret Lewis of Birmingham, Alabama and son-in-law, Israel Jiles, III of Dallas, Texas. She will forever live in the hearts of her three grandchildren, Jenny Lewis and Israel Jiles, IV of New York, New York and Livingstone "Matthew" Lewis of Seattle, Washington. She was most proud of her only great grandson, Braden Lewis of Seattle, Washington. Her laugh, love and prayers will be missed by her devoted brother, Cyril Bozonier in Rialto, California; in-laws, nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. All that knew her are invited to her celebration of life. The viewing will begin at 9:00 A.M., rosary at 9:30 A.M. and the Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Saint Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 7300 Crowder Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70127.
