May 22, 1961 Mr. Benja E. Green was the sixth child born to Alma Green and the late Ben Green on May 22, 1961 in Birmingham, AL. He was a member of Peace Baptist Church. Benja was a graduate of Minor High School and worked for the Birmingham Housing Authority. He was a member of the Mulga Pride Masonic Lodge. Benja passed away peacefully on May 4, 2015. Benja is preceded in death by his father Ben Green; his brother Tommy Green and his sister Alma Elaine Green. He leaves to cherish many loving memories his mother, Alma Green; son, Benja Green Jr.; daughter, Tocarra Green; sisters, Lois McCray, Bennie (Ronald) McMillan and Chandra (Wayne) Gage; grandchildren, Jacoby, Jacorey, and Alana Green; aunts, Kitty Cokely and Julia Green; uncle, Charles Cunningham; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. Family hour will be held on May 14, 2015 from 6:00 – 7:00 PM at Smith & Gaston Funeral Service, , 102 6th Ave SW, Birmingham, AL. The funeral service will be on May 15, 2015 at noon at Peace Baptist Church, 1531 Camille Street, Mulga, AL. Interment will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens.
