Baby Braylen James Woody was born on a cool crisp Friday afternoon, the 21st day of December 2012 to Keturah Thomas and Aneilous James Woody in Birmingham, Alabama. He had eyes as big and bright as the sun, skin soft as cotton and smooth as silk, a head full of thick black hair and a smile that could melt your heart, truly he was sent from heaven. Though his time here was brief, Braylen touched many lives, he loved his family and it was said that he never met a stranger. He was a happy, energetic toddler who loved balls and Thomas the Train; a huge fan of basketball and football, he would watch an entire NBA basketball game. He attended God's Little Lamb Daycare. Braylen was a member of Faith Temple Church and especially enjoyed the music of the praise team and choir, his favorite song was "Shout". At home, he had a passion for the microphone and when it was time to sing, anything could be used as one. On Monday, September 15, 2014, Braylen went to sleep in Jesus and was united with his family in heaven, including his great grandmothers, Pearl Mitchell and Lucille McMillian, his great grandfather, Claude Woody, Jr., his great aunt, Carolyn Woody, and others. Family Hour was held Friday, September 19, 2014 from 6:00 until 7:00 P.M. at Smith & Gaston Southside Chapel. Funeral services were held Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Faith Temple Church with interment in Elmwood Cemetery. He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Keturah Thomas of Helena, AL; his father, Aneilous Woody of Birmingham, AL; his grandparents, Ministers Albert and Cynthia Thomas of Helena, AL, Jacqueline Lewis of Midfield, AL and Pastor James and Min.
