Augustine Rutherford known to many as Rudy was born on July 26 1934 in Winston Salem north Carolina to the late great Willie SR and love scales Rutherford. He was a loving brother to Willie Jr and Alfonso Rutherford. In 1953 he left the Carolinas to start a journey where he would  later fall in love and marry  his loving dedicated wife and lifetime partner Mary Rutherford in 1957.  Later, the 2 welcomed their only daughter Linda Rutherford who would later grow to expand the family with her children.

Augustine went to business school to become an accountant and shortly after In March 1959 to 1963 he was drafted into the army where he honorably served his country in the US army corps.
After working years at j and r music world he and Mary would both retire and move to Birmingham, Alabama his last resting place.

Over the years he took pride in gardening and community beautification projects in addition to being a faithful servant as a chairman and later deacon at first Baptist church. He was awarded life time achievement award and awards for not only being apart of but for putting his best foot forward in everything he did.

Augustine has always took pride in his works and helping his family and others and he always walked on faith.  He was a loving brother father husband and grandfather and great grand father and friend. He was married for over 65 years until his sunset departure may 19 2024.

Augustine leaves behind his devoted wife Mary, daughter Linda, grand children, great grands nieces nephews, brothers/sister in laws and a host friends who will miss his warm smile, kind words of wisdom, leadership and structure and his warm sense of humor.
