Arthur Charles Gaston, Esq. finished his life's journey on December 9, 2024 in Houston, Texas. Born on September 12, 1938 to Sallie Dean Robinson Gaston and Arthur George Gaston, Jr. in Birmingham, Alabama. He received Jesus Christ at an early age while attending Pilgrim Lutheran Church and School. He was educated in the Birmingham Public School System and received his high school education at St. Emma Military Academy in Rock Castle,Virginia. He received his bachelor's degree from Tuskegee University and later graduated from Howard University in Washington, DC with a degree in Jurisprudence.
Arthur Charles worked at his grandfather's company and U.S. Steel before relocating to Houston, Texas. In 1972, he passed the Texas State Bar and later joined the law firm of Jefferson, Williams and Jackson. Shortly thereafter, Attorney Arthur Charles Gaston established the law firm of A. Charles Gaston. He worked with vigor in the law profession for over 52 years working effortlessly for his clients. He was socially and professionally involved in numerous organizations and community activities. In 2022 Attorney Gaston was duly honored by the State Bar of Texas for valuable and meritorious service rendered to the Community, State and Nation as a member of the bar for more than 50 years. In his leisure time Gaston enjoyed football, travelling and sporty cars. One of his dear passions was advocating and mentoring young law students as well as assisting them in receiving employment at various law firms.
Arthur Charles Gaston was preceded in death by his parents and oldest sister, Arthur Jean Gaston Lewis (Alfred Lewis/deceased) and his nephew Jordan Ellis Melton.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Arlyse Louise Gaston whom he affectionately called Amy; his sisters, Creola Gaston Lucas (Ira T. Lucas, Jr/ deceased), Rachel Gaston and Patricia Gaston McCullum (Donald); nephew, Ira T. Lucas, III; nieces, Dr. Rochelle Malone, Ingrid Lucas, Rashaun Gaston Aigbivbalu J.D.,M.S.CCC-SLP (Peter); Dr. Elizabeth McCullum and a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
Arthur Charles, known by his family and friends as "BROTHER", will be remembered as a self-sacrificing and disciplined man of great character. He possessed a servant's heart and was always willing to help others with kind words and a smile!
