Archie D. Barnett was born to Roscoe Simmons Barnett and Annie Louise Manning Barnett on June 27, 1952. After a long illness, Archie died on September 7, 2015.
Archie attended the Birmingham Public School System. He graduated from West End High School in 1970. He also graduated from the UAB School of Allied Health Science in the field of Respiratory Therapy.
Archie worked for several local hospitals and medical facilities as a Respiratory Therapist before retiring in 2006.
Archie met the love of his life, Debra Grier, through a mutual friend, and after a brief courtship they were married on September 7, 1974. To their union was born one son, Christopher Brian Barnett.
After a diligent study of the Bible, Archie dedicated himself as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on December 4, 1971. Archie and Debra worked tirelessly in finding and aiding others to come to know Jehovah.
Due to Archie's warm, friendly, generous, and outgoing personality, he was known by many and loved by all. He will truly be missed.
The memorial services will be held Friday September 11, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at The Riverchase Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, located at 106 Trade Center Drive, Hoover, AL 35244. Family visitation will be held Thursday, September 10, 2015 from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at Smith & Gaston Southside Chapel.
Archie is survived by his devoted wife, Debra; son, Christopher Brian; brother, Roscoe; sisters, Paulette Harrison (William), Patricia McDonald, Deborah Jean Barnett; many nieces and nephews. Archie was preceded in death by one brother, Albert Barry Barnett.
