Anita Ellis Harris was the daughter of the late Randolph and Hattie Ellis.  Anita was the fourth of nine children.

Anita was affectionally called "Nita, Tim, and Nita baby throughout her life.

Anita lived in Connecticut and New York, and Alabama where she received numerous accolades for creating effective and efficient bank programs. Anita met and married her love, Donald Harris, in 1982 in Connecticut. They were married for forty-three years, until her untimely death in her hometown, Birmingham, Alabama on April 20th, 2026.

Continuing, Anita was loved and respected by family, friends, and coworkers. She worked as a financial administrator in Birmingham and Connecticut until she was unable to due to illness.

Anita married Donald Harris in 1982 and had two step- daughters, Angela Harris Eldorado and Donna Harris.

Anita attended St Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church while living in Birmingham as a child and adult. She was a faithful member even after her confinement to a Nursing home facility. She spoke high of her Pastor who visited her often.

Anita attended Alabama State University in Montgomery, Alabama.

She was proceeded in death by her brothers, Edwin Dotson Ellis, Randolph Ellis Jr. Cornell Ellis, Elmer Douglas Ellis, and her sister, Irma Jean Ellis Paterson.

Anita leaves to cherish her Memory: husband, Donald Harris; two sisters, Jerdine Ellis Bronson and Gail Ellis Brown and one remaining brother, Glenn Ellis who resides in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; a host of nieces and nephews in California, Connecticut, Georgia, and South Carolina; six sisters in law and three brothers in law.
