Angela Denise
Coverson - Robinson
March 3, 1968 – August 14, 2022
Angela Denise Coverson-Robinson, daughter of the late Reginald Coverson and Shirley Coverson, was born on March 3, 1968, in Birmingham, Alabama. Angela passed away on August 14, 2022, after a courageous battle with a brain aneurysm. She was surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
She attended Birmingham public schools and graduated from Banks High School, and in 1986, she was crowned the first black Ms. Contrails since its opening in 1957. She was the treasurer of Science Club, assistant business manager, junior and senior class favorite, office aide, choir member, FBLA member, senior Who's Who most talented, and many more roles at her high school.
She was married on a summer day in early August of 1987 to her high school sweetheart, Bryn Robinson. The union was blessed with three children. They migrated from Birmingham, Alabama, to North Carolina where she worked in the finance department at Roses. In 1993, she received her associate's degree in nursing. She worked as a licensed practical nurse (LPN) at various assisted living homes, faithfully serving for 29 years, and was always known to be one of the best caretakers in any facility that she graced. In 2002, she joined Victory Deliverance Center where Angela was the minister of music. She used her gift of singing to minister to, uplift, and heal many people. There wasn't a dry eye nor an unraised hand left in a chapel after she would go into worship. Angela was a caring wife, mother, grandmother (or "Gigi"), sister, and friend. She was known for always smiling, dancing, singing, holding babies, playing piano, and taking care of everything and everyone in her path, whether it be through her gift of music or just one conversation with "Angie." She always had the ability to make everyone feel welcomed with her warm smile and compassionate heart. At times she could be a woman of few words, but she didn't have to say much because the light of God naturally came through her. She was a faithful servant of God and took great care of her family.
She is survived by: her husband, Bryn Robinson; sons, Thomas and Jacob Robinson; daughter, Briana Robinson; mother, Shirley Coverson; aunt, Kathy Effinger; uncle, Ronald Coverson; sisters, Barbara Hill, Tanya Coverson, and Regina Coverson-Adams; brother, Reggie Coverson; brothers-in-law, Dwayne Hill and Michael Adams; three beautiful grandchildren, Gabriella, Tegan, and Carmen Robinson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
